Pastor's Letter

St. Thomas More Parish was founded as a parish in 1971. Over the yearsit has grown into the vibrant, faith community that it is today. We have a wonderful school and religious education program, a beautiful worship space, an adoration chapel that is open year around and much more to be thankful for because of the faith, hard work and sacrifice of so many who have been a part of our parish over the last 45 years.

In 2005, the parish launched an ambitious program to renovate the facilities that predate the Evangelical Center and School here at St. Thomas More under the direction of Fr. Andrew Kemberling. The Jubilee Vision Campaign raised funds to remodel the church sanctuary, parish offices, gift shop and adoration chapel. A second campaign aimed at raising the funds needed to complete the parish's vision provided the funding to build a new rectory and an adjacent meditation garden. Today we embark on the Renewing Our Heritage capital campaign to complete the renovations of McCallin Hall I & II, the Padre restaurant, St. Peregrine Hall and the Youth Center, fulfilling the plan begun over 10 years ago.

The areas we are addressing with this campaign are the places where we come together, outside of the Eucharist, in small groups and in large groups to deepen our faith in prayer and fellowship. Many different ministries and programs meet in these spaces and they would all benefit from improved facilities. By supporting this campaign we have the opportunity to do our part in caring for our parish and providing for those generations who will come after us.

I encourage you to read through this case statement, as it thoroughly explains our campaign needs and goals. I also ask that you prayerfully consider how you may help to ensure the success of this effort. Pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit to direct us in this important initiative, that the Lord will “grant success to the works of our hands” (Ps. 90:17).

Sincerely yours in Christ,
